About Me
My name is Jim also know as Farmer Jim
I started out having tremors and gait issues in the early 2000’s. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital for a possible heart attack in 2003 and I did not have one. My right hand was having tremors, and they asked what was up with it and I told them that I am in the hospital and for them to tell me. Need less to say they did not even try to figure t out. Then in 2015 I was at a friend’s son’s birthday party on August 1st, and I went home and showered afterwards. I fell asleep on the couch and when I woke the left side of my face was numb, trouble understanding what was going on. I was again taken by ambulance to the Hospital, this time for a possible stroke. I also lost 92% hearing on left side.
After being in the hospital for a few days and had a bunch of stroke tests they said it was not a stroke. I had an MRI after I got out of the hospital by my ear doctor and they said I had white spots due to age, I was in my early fifties. I seen a different Neurologist and they said it was MS, and I also tested positive for JC virus. I took all of the high-priced MS drugs. I started having full body tremors and my neurologist said I would have to see someone else for these. I see another Neurologist in 2019 and the did some tests and said I did not have MS. So they referred me to another Neurologist and after a while I was officially diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). I have had tremors in both hands, full body tremors, drop attacks, lots of falls, loss of hearing, Dysautonomia, functional Dystonia, functional seizures and a functional stroke. I would like to use this site to help find tools for recovery, updated news on FND and list of other helpful sites. Please feel free to send me anything that can help keep FND manageable and please send me tools or treatments that you think should be shared. God bless all of us.
